In this video, we delve deeper into permissions in dotCMS, focusing on hereditary permissions and hierarchy of roles. Roles can have child roles, inheriting permissions from their parent roles. We demonstrate creating a new role within an existing one and adjusting permissions accordingly. We also touch on cascade changes, advising to try making changes without cascading first. If needed, cascading changes can be applied, but caution is advised as it will wipe existing permissions. Understanding these concepts is crucial for configuring permissions effectively in dotCMS.
