Recommendation
Customers can use either the Jobs API or an OSGi plugin (such as the Scheduled Quartz Job plugin) in order to schedule and run jobs.
Reason
This tool was culled as part of the removal of Struts from the dotCMS architecture and general cleaning up of Quartz operations.
The Scheduler Tool allows you to view Quartz jobs from the dotCMS back-end UI. This view is also available in the Management Screen. This tool has been deprecated and will be removed in a future version.
In order to create and schedule Jobs, it is necessary to create an OSGI plugin. See this page on the quartz osgi plugin for more information
